Hi everyone! I'm so excited to share with you guys a quick Q&A by the authors of Born to Love Wild, a recently published paranormal romance anthology. I'm incredibly lucky to be able to participate in the blog tour for this book, so let's get started! *Read my review of Born to Love Wild here* BORN TO LOVE WILD Stars and Stone Books Featuring: USA Today Bestselling Author Traci Douglass, Cara McKinnon, Sheri Queen, Pepper McGraw, M.T. Buy Now: Kindle | iBooks | Kobo | Google Play The Born to Love Wild authors all came together to answer some questions about their stories for the anthology. Here, they discuss the characters from their stories. Andie Biagini – “Water Temperature”
An engineering student and a cryptozoologist. One of them can talk to sea monsters, but it’s not who you think. Luis was the most fun to write, with his grumpy, tough-guy exterior that falls away once he starts nerding out about sea monsters. I had some trouble with how to portray Madison’s fellow interns. She’s not a big fan of them, so they were never going to come off as great guys. But I have a lot of engineers in my life and I didn’t want to make anyone feel bad, so I had to tread lightly there. J. Bigelow – “Focal Point” Sometimes a wizard from Sweden needs help from a medium from Michigan. My favorite character is Faas. This was my first time writing him and he was fun to explore. My least favorite character is the possessed Goodale only because he’s trying to kill the hero and heroine. M.T. DeSantis - “Forever Love” To find a chance… A chance to find… Karli is actually my least favorite. She’s one of the main two, and really, there’s probably nothing wrong with her aside from her insecurities that remind me of myself. Antrina, Ellowyn’s former lover, is my favorite. She’s mature in a way I don’t often see fae being. She’s also not afraid to take responsibility or help others figure out what they need. She knows what she wants. If she breaks a few hearts getting it, there’s a reason, and it’s a good one. She just might not tell you for a few thousand years. Fae, what can you do? Traci Douglass – “Blood Strong: A Blood Ravagers Novella” One guardian demon in love. One witch with a secret crush. One evil threatening their newfound connection. Spud is my favorite. He’s just such a loveable, fierce, honest and true guy. I’d say my least favorite are the members of the Chosen Truth Church. I’m a very spiritual person and pray daily, but when people take their beliefs and use them as weapons against others, I’ve got a problem with that. Read Gallo – “The Flying Saltines” When a river falls in love with an ordinary person will New York City survive? Lummy is my fav. It’s why he suffers so much. I love his nebbish tendencies, his innocence, his general chaotic goodness. I usually write very confident assertive characters so writing someone who’s afraid to speak up and admit he knows what’s wrong as the world is literally crashing in on him, was very fun for me. For the record, I’d hate both of these characters in real life. Pepper McGraw – “Full Moon Shenanigans” The full moon’s coming and it’s time to embrace the wildness within. This is a hard one. I think my favorite character in the Shenanigans world is Phoenix, but you’ll have to read Shifter Shenanigans (found in Shadows and Stars) to learn why. As far as my favorite character in this particular story, I love Max. He has hidden layers that aren’t really revealed until this story when he finally gets his happily ever after with his mate Glory. I love that his true nature is only revealed through Glory’s eyes. Cara McKinnon - “A Change of Heart” She’s a hybrid shifter who’s not supposed to exist. He’s a wolf who was born to protect her. But her secrets force him to choose: his mate, or his pack loyalty? I enjoy both my hero and heroine, but Zoe edges out Nathan by just a smidge. I’m not sure I could have endured the life she has, and she was much more interesting to dig into from a writing perspective. I don’t have a least favorite. Even the mean/evil/arrogant/nasty ones have their purpose. Sheri Queen - “The Robinson Agency” Some are born with the gift to see into the future. Others create their own destiny. I am loving Ilya’s aunts. They are so much fun to write, however, I also love my main character. It’s through her eyes that we glimpse the quirkiness of her family. My least favorite might be Ilya’s uncle. He’s a crime boss and does nasty things to people. Of course, that’s what adds to the story’s tension and conflict, so I can’t hate him. He’s just doing his job as an antagonist.
