I'm cheating a bit on this one, because I sort of know what happens in Queen of Air and Darkness. The adventures of the Blackthorn family continue, and there's magic and runes and Downworlders. But that's exactly why I chose it. QoAaD came out in December, and I had a countdown timer and was incredibly excited, and yet it's still sitting on my shelf unread. Why?
But there might be a darker truth: I think I'm tired of the Shadowhunter universe. I've lived in this world for 5 years now--I got into The Mortal Instruments just as I was starting to blog, and they introduced me to Young Adult. I'm grateful for that, but wow, I really needed a break. Each book is so well-written, and I think the more I read, the more recovery time I need in between to bounce back from the plot twists and emotional manipulation! Either way, this summer I'm determined to rekindle my interest in Shadowhunters. I'll read some books, tattoo some runes, and I'm good to go!
