It’s summer time! That means swimming, sand, sodas, and the best days of the year. I must say that I’m not enamored of the beach myself and there are only a select few people who could convince me to make the trip with them--read my post on pros and cons of beach reading here--but I will admit that one of the most satisfying feelings is relaxing under a colorful umbrella with a book, and looking out at the ocean in front of you.
Most people crave a light beach book, something with a little bit of romance, and a little bit of adventure, but I’m here to give you __ great reads with a LOT of adventure. You’re definitely going to want to include these in your beach bag!

While not all spooky, these eight books will evoke feelings that fall is coming. They're perfect for cozying up under a blanket on a chilly day. Be sure to add these books to your TBR list in time for the fall!

I'm here to tell you there's a better way to pass your time! Read! There is a perfect genre and a perfect book for every summer occasion! Go forth and find an adventure.
Happy Fourth of July, everyone! I'm on vacation with the family, so here are some of the books I've taken, carrying the theme of red, white, and blue to celebrate. I don't get much time to myself, but from what I've read, they're all amazing. Glass Sword and Murder on the Orient Express are new, and Eragon I bought used because I've read it and just wanted to own a copy.
Glass Sword (Victoria Aveyard)-I'm on page 116, but so far it is absolutely amazing. I loved Red Queen, and I am devouring it's sequel. It's kind of superficial, but what I love most about Glass Sword so far is the cover design. It takes my breath away every time I look at the intricate details and careful sculpting. Murder on the Orient Express (Agatha Christie)-I picked this up when I was in Montréal because I loved the minimalist style used in the cover design. It was part of a set, but I only got this and And Then There Were None. I haven't read very much, but I love what I have read. Agatha Christie is my go to author for murder mysteries, and I do love a good mystery. Eragon (Christopher Paolini)-Eragon is my favorite dragon novel. I have read a couple others, like Seraphina, but I always end up comparing them to the Inheritance Cycle. It has the adventure, and the characters to make the story come alive. |
